As the first provider for IELTS Test venue in North Jakarta, IELTS Jakarta and Specta Education know well the marking standard in IELTS Speaking test. Below is our suggestion about Do's and Don'ts in speaking test.

What To Do and What Not To Do in Speaking Test

X
Show the examiner you are confident by smiling and looking him or her in the eye.
Do not tell examiner that you are nervous, or blink your eyes and move about too much.
If the examiner offers to shake your hand, return his or her handshake firmly.
Do not shake hands with the examiner as if your extended hand were a cold wet fish.
Answer the questions you are asked clearly and in some detail (using at least two or three sentences).
Do not cut the interview questions short with one-word or very short answers.
Show that you are in control by talking freely about yourself and your past.
Do not wait for another question -  the examiner wants you to answer each question in full.
Make sure you have practiced well enough before the test so that the past tenses you use are accurately formed and appropriate.
Do not be afraid to correct yourself if you make a grammatical mistake, but fluency is just as important. Your grammar practice should take place in the classroom or at home.
